William Henry Craven

Funeral services for William Henry Craven age 84 of Prescott, Arkansas will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM in Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Prescott, Arkansas with Pastor Mickey Manning officiating. Burial will be in Craven Cemetery with services provided by Brandon’s Mortuary, Inc. of Hope.

In a bittersweet moment another angel has found his wings and set off on a flight safe into the arms of God and those gone before him waiting and anticipating his arrival in heaven.

The word of God Fulfilled, Our beloved William Henry Craven went home to Glory on December 26, 2013 in Hempstead County, Arkansas. His father Brooks Craven and his mother Mattie Redic Craven; sister Bama Craven-Vanhook and daughter Lois Craven-Brown preceded him in death. We thank God for His grace and mercy to allow "Brother Craven" to live a long and beautiful life.

William Henry Craven was born February 7, 1929 in Nevada County, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Brooks Craven and Mattie Redic-Craven. William accepted Christ at an early age and joined St Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church where he was a faithful member until uniting with Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church both located in Prescott, Arkansas.

William Craven served as Trustee, a faithful member of the Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church Male Chorus where he rejoiced in leading the song "Lord Hold My Hand, While I Run This Race"

On August 3, 1957 William (Buddy) Craven exchanged wedding vows with Levercie George-Craven. This union was blessed with fifty-six years of love and happiness. It was also blessed with two children: Charlotte Ann Craven and William Earl Craven; four grandchildren: Brandon Douglas Franklin, Derrick DeWayne Franklin, Justin Keyon Craven and Ebonisha Marchette Craven; three great grandsons Derrick Franklin, Dylon Franklin and Josiah Alexander Craven

William leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Levercie George-Craven; beloved sons: Willie Ray Craven (Charlotte Lynn Murphy), Lindsey Earl Craven (Theresa Craven), William Earl Craven (Dorica Michelle Craven), one daughter Charlotte Ann Craven, a number of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Deacons and Trustees of Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Active Pallbearers are Jerrol Craven, Bennie Dixon, Nathaniel Tidwell, Howard Austin, Odell Harris and Andre Lewis.
